Get your councillor involved
Local councillors, and their communities, have the power to make positive change happen.
Politics in Westminster is so often governed by hostility and division - local councillors know that things can, and should, be different.
The Migrant Champions Network exists to support local councillors to shift power back where it belongs - with communities.
More and more, local politicians are listening to their communities and taking a stand against toxic Westminster politics. Whether it's standing up to the Government's cruel Rwanda deportation policy, or refusing to turn their local authority into a Hostile Environment for migrants, resistance is growing by the day.
There are so many ways to be part of that resistance - and making sure the people who represent you are fighting for everyone in your community is a powerful one.

“My name is [insert name], of [insert address and postcode]. I am writing to ask you, as my councillor, to sign up to the Migrant Champions Network.
Westminster politics is too often divisive and hostile, with migrants scapegoated and isolated from their communities. But I am proud to live in a place which people want to call home, whether they were born here or moved here. I believe that when everyone is supported, we all flourish and grow together.
The Migrant Champions Network supports local councillors to advocate for the rights of all their constituents, no matter how long they have been here or how they arrived. Migrant Champion councillors get support from the network to act as a single point of contact for migrant residents, to push for better policies within their local council and to join up with other councillors to campaign for migrants' rights nationally.
With ever rising levels of hostility from central government, there has never been a better time to shift power back into local communities, and show our new neighbours the welcome they deserve. As my councillor, please take a stand for the rights of all migrants by becoming a Migrant Champion.
