What We Do
The Migrant Champions Network is a network of local councillors from across the UK - and across different political parties - working together to fight for the rights of all migrants.
We do this because we know that there's never been a more important time to stand up for the rights of people who make the UK their home.
Hostility towards migrants is ever on the rise - among politicians in Westminster, and in much of the media. But it's clear that across the country, local communities want to make a change.
Campaigns
Our communities are stronger when we work in solidarity to build better lives for all of our neighbours, regardless of where we were born.
We exist to support the brilliant work being done by local councillors - Migrant Champions and others - to support migrant constituents and to fight for the rights of all people who have moved to the UK, whether they moved by choice or by force.
The network organises quarterly meetings, provides resources and trainings, and works with members to support migrant constituents.
The network was founded in 2022 by the UK’s first Migrant Champions, in Islington and Oxford. The development of the network is supported by the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, a legal charity based in London that campaigns for justice for people who move.
The network is non-party political, and is funded by the OAK Foundation.
